NUMBER OF PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS IN MALAY, CHINESE, ENGLISH AND TAMIL SCHOOLS IN 1962 AND 1963

Mr Leong Keng Seng asked the Minister for Education what is the total number of Primary school pupils in (a) Malay Schools; (b) Chinese Schools; (c) English Schools; and (d) Tamil Schools in the years 1962 and 1963, respectively.

Mr Yong Nyuk Lin: I take it, Sir, that what the Member for Serangoon Gardens is interested in is enrolment of pupils in Primary Schools of Government and Government-Aided Schools and not those in Primary Schools.
