The Deputy Prime Minister (Dr Toh Chin Chye): Mr Speaker, I beg to move the motion standing in my name*.

*The motion reads as follows:

That this Assembly doth agree with the Committee of Privileges in their Fourth Report as contained in Paper L.A. 18 of 1962.

Mr Speaker, this Fourth Report of the Committee of Privileges deals with a certain Inche Hussein Jahidin who was responsible for sending copies of a letter to Government Back-benchers. Subsequently a report was made to the House that this was a breach of privilege and that this letter contained intimidating tones which sought to influence the work of Government Back-benchers. The Committee of Privileges has met and has found Inche Hussein Jahidin guilty of a breach of privilege. However, Inche Hussein Jahidin has apologised to the Committee for dispatching this letter. He has admitted breach of privilege and the Committee has decided not to take further action in this matter.

Question put, and agreed to.

Resolved,

That this Assembly doth agree with the Committee of Privileges in their Fourth Report as contained in Paper L.A. 18 of 1962.
