Madam Chan Choy Siong asked the Minister for Law and National Development whether the Housing and Development Board has any scheme to develop the open ground behind the Bukit Ho Swee Community Centre into either a small park or a children's playground, as this open ground is overgrown with tall grass.

Mr Barker: Mr Speaker, Sir, the land in question has been let to the People's Association on a Temporary Occupation Licence.

My Ministry would have no objection if the People's Association wishes to turn the land into either a children's playground or a small park. My Ministry would certainly assist the Association by doing the landscaping work and making every arrangement to turn this piece of land into a park.
