UPPER SERANGOON ROAD (Widening)

Mr Ng Kah Ting asked the Minister for Law and National Development why that portion of Upper Serangoon Road in front of the petrol kiosk, opposite Flower Road, has not yet been widened; and if he will take steps for the widening of that portion of the Road to allow the smooth flow of vehicular traffic.

Mr Ho Cheng Choon (for the Minister for Law and National Development): Mr Speaker, Sir, the widening of that portion of Upper Serangoon Road in front of the petrol kiosk opposite Flower Road was delayed because of difficulties encountered in acquiring the land in question. However, negotiations for the acquisition of the land were recently concluded, and work on the widening will commence in about a month's time.
