Dr Augustine H. H. Tan asked the Minister for Law and National Development if he has any plans for relieving the traffic congestion along Jalan Kebun Limau and Jalan Bahagia which form a one-way street linking Balestier Road and Jalan Toa Payoh; and if not, if he will consider the construction of an access road linking Balestier Road and Jalan Toa Payoh.
Mr E. W. Barker: Mr Speaker, Sir, the building of an expressway is being planned to link Balestier Road and Jalan Toa Payoh. A section of Jalan Kebun Limau and Jalan Bahagia will form part of this expressway which, when completed, will relieve traffic congestion along these two roads.
