Mr Cheong Yuen Chee asked the Minister for Law and National Development if there are any plans to provide toilet facilities and bus shelters for commuters and bus workers at the Toa Payoh Central terminus.
Mr Ho Cheng Choon (for the Minister for Law and National Development): Sir, toilet facilities to cater for passengers using the bus terminus at the Toa Payoh Town centre will be provided in the hawkers' centre adjacent to the bus terminus as well as at the entrance to the bus terminus at Lorong 2, Toa Payoh. Construction of the toilet facilities is in progress and is expected to be completed by February next year.
With regard to the bus shelters, quotations are being called for the construction of four large circular-shaped fibreglass shelters at the terminus. These bus shelters are expected to be built by the middle of next year.
