Mr Yeo Choo Kok asked the Minister for National Development and Communications whether the Housing and Development Board has any plan to sell the former Singapore Improvement Trust flats in the Delta Constituency.
Dr Tan Eng Liang (for the Minister for National Development and Communications): Mr Speaker, Sir, former SIT flats are either redeveloped or sold under the Home Ownership Scheme, in accordance with the following guidelines:-
(a) Redevelopment will be considered where the flats are 3-storey or less and the density is low.
(b) Sale is considered where the flats are more than three storeys and the density is high.
There are no plans to sell the SIT flats at the Delta Constituency as the buildings are below four storeys and the land they occupy is suitable for redevelopment.
