Business Motion

The Minister for Law and the Environment (Mr E. W. Barker): Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move the motion* standing in my name, as it appears on the Order Paper.

  • The motion reads as follows

'That, notwithstanding the Standing Orders, an additional sitting day. namely, Monday. the 14th March, 1977, be allotted for the debate on the motion for approval of the financial policy of the Government for the financial year 1977/78 moved by the Minister for Finance on 28th February, 1977.'

Apparently so many of the Members here desire to speak that the one day that is usually set aside for the debate will not be sufficient. Hence the motion.

Question put, and agreed to
