Haji Sha'ari Bin Tadin asked the Minister for Culture and Science and Technology if it is planned to set up a library in Neighbourhood I of Bedok New Town and when.

The Minister for Culture and Science and Technology (Mr Jek Yeun Thong): Mr Speaker, Sir, there are plans to build a full-time branch library in Bedok New Town when the population there reaches 150,000. A site in the New Town centre has already been reserved for this purpose.
