NEW UPPER CHANGI ROAD AND BEDOK SOUTH AVENUE 1 (Installation of traffic lights)

Haji Sha'ari bin Tadin asked the Minister for National Development if he will consider installing traffic lights at the junction of New Upper Changi Road and Bedok South Avenue 1.

Mr Teh Cheang Wan: Mr Speaker, Sir, it is not necessary, at present, to provide traffic lights at the junction of New Upper Changi Road and Bedok South Avenue 1 as the turning traffic is light even during peak hours. The Public Works Department will, however, keep this junction under observation and provide the lights if traffic volume warrants it at a future date.
