Mr John Ede asked the Chief Minister whether he will give details of any rules which have been framed by which Assistant Ministers are required to relinquish their interests in business and professional activities during their term of office.

The Chief Minister: Sir, I am happy to inform the hon. Member that a complete code governing the conduct of Ministers was published and laid before the Legislative Council in 1954 as Sessional Paper No. Cmd. 88 of 1954. No doubt the hon. Member would find it easy to seek access thereto.

Mr John Ede: Am I to understand from the Hon. the Chief Minister that the code of conduct for Ministers is also applicable to Assistant Ministers throughout?

The Chief Minister: The answer is in the affirmative, Sir.
