Order for Second Reading read.

The Minister for Health (Mr A. J. Braga): Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move,

"That the Bill be now read a Second time."

The Sale of Food and Drugs (Amendment) Bill was published last November and I am sure that hon. Members have had time to examine it in detail. The purpose of the proposed amendments and the reasons for them are described in the explanatory note at the end of the Bill, and there is very little that I need say except that this Bill gives an opportunity to medical officers to take samples of drugs and to protect the public from obnoxious drugs.

Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move.

Question put, and agreed to

Bill accordingly read a Second time.
