Mr Lim Cher Kheng asked the Minister for Education whether he is satisfied that the Government-managed Chinese Primary and Secondary Schools are administered in accordance with the recommendation of the Report of the All-Party Committee on Chinese Education.
Mr Chew Swee Kee: Yes, though the Government Chinese schools are being administered in accordance with the provisions of the White Paper, which differ in some very minor respects from the recommendations of the Report of the All-Party Committee on Chinese Education.
Mr Lim Cher Kheng: Is it the Minister's opinion that the time is ripe for the Ministry to compel all the Chinese schools in Singapore to accept the full grant-in-aid scheme?
Mr Speaker: That is a matter of opinion.
