Mr Lim Cher Kheng asked the Minister for Education whether it is his intention to compel the Chinese Schools to accept the full grant-in-aid scheme.

Mr Chew Swee Kee: No. As stated in paragraph 28 of the White Paper, schools may elect whether to receive Government aid under a new Grant Code or not to receive any aid at all.
