Inche Ahmad Bin Ibrahim asked the Minister for Education what stand is taken by the Government in respect of the memorandum submitted to him by the Malay Education Council (Majlis Pelajaran Melayu) on 20th August, 1955.

Mr Chew Swee Kee: The matter is still under further consideration by Government. A statement will be made very shortly.

Inche Ahmad Bin Ibrahim: Would the Minister inform the House whether he intends to give active consideration to the question of Malay education, and when will he give his final decision as to whether or not he accepts the memorandum?

Mr Chew Swee Kee: As I have indicated, the matter is under active consideration and Government will make a statement very shortly.
