Legislative Assembly of Singapore · 24 April 1957 · 1st Legislative Assembly
Official Report, 24 April 1957, Vol 3, Issue 5 · Open in the reader (summaries, search, filters)
Mr Lee Choon Eng asked the Minister for Communications and Works whether he will inform this House of the basis of priority in dealing with applications to the Singapore Telephone Board for the installation of telephones.
Mr Francis Thomas: The Member for Queenstown is doubtless aware that because the Singapore Telephone Board is a statutory corporation having full responsibility for its own process of internal administration, it is not in this connection answerable to the Minister. I have however drawn the attention of the Board to this question. If the hon. Member will ask the Chairman of the Board, I am sure he will get the information he requires.
