The Attorney-General (Mr C. H. Butterfield): Mr Speaker, Sir, I move a motion under Standing Order 9 (2) which relates to the order of business, and my motion is that the motion for the Second Reading of the Pawnbrokers (Amendment) Bill should be taken out of its order and taken after the motion for the Second Reading of the Education Bill. I move, Sir,
That proceedings on item 2 of the Orders of the Day be taken after proceedings on item 4.
The Minister for Health (Mr A. J. Braga): Sir, I second it.
Question proposed.
Mr Marshall: Very interesting, Sir! No doubt, he will find us very indulgent if he would take us into his trust and tell us the top secret: Why? Are we not entitled at least to know why the Orders of the Day are being changed? Is it such a very grave State secret?
Mr Butterfield: Perhaps I should have said a little more, Sir. The purpose of this motion is to enable the Assistant Minister in charge of this Bill to have a little more time to prepare one or two further amendments which he wishes to move at the Committee stage. It is for his convenience, Sir, and I hope that Members of the Assembly generally will be glad to support this motion.
Mr Marshall: He did not do his homework in time!
Question put, and agreed to.
Resolved,
That proceedings on item 2 of the Orders of the Day be taken after proceedings on item 4.
