Mr Goh Tong Liang asked the Minister for Local Government, Lands and Housing (a) what percentage of the housing units built by the Singapore Improvement Trust in 1955 carried the lowest rent of $30 per month, and what percentage of the housing units expected to be built in 1956 will carry such rentals; (b) how many families are on the waiting list for this category of house, and how they will be accommodated.

Inche Abdul Hamid Bin Haji Jumat: The second part of the Honourable Member's question concerns the day - today affairs of the Singapore Improvement Trust and I shall ask the Manager of the Trust to supply the required information direct. As regards the information relating to housing units asked for in the first part of the question, I shall write to the Honourable Member as soon as the figures are available.
