Mr D. S. Marshall asked the Chief Secretary whether he will make available to the English-reading public of Singapore by public subscription the Information Services' Daily Digest of Non-English Press.

Mr Goode: Sir, the request to make the Daily Digest generally available to the public raises a number of problems which I have not yet had the time to resolve, and I regret, therefore, that I am not yet in a position to give the hon. Member an answer to his question. I will, however, inform him as soon as a decision has been reached.

Mr Marshall: Will the Chief Secretary give some indication as to the probable period when he may be in a position to inform me of what his decision is?

Mr Goode: I am sorry, Sir, that the Member for Cairnhill should imply that I am not making a serious attempt to give an answer. I hope to give him an answer within a fortnight.

Mr Marshall: Thanks.
