LAND TITLES IN BEDOK SETTLEMENT

Mr Lim Cher Kheng asked the Minister for Local Government, Lands and Housing when titles to the land now occupied by persons under Temporary Occupation Licence in the Bedok Settlement will begin to be issued.
Inche Abdul Hamid Bin Haji Jumat: Mr Speaker, Sir, the Survey Department is already surveying the Bedok region according to present occupation and, on completion of this work and agreement on occupation boundaries, title plans will be prepared for the issue of leases.
Mr Lim Cher Kheng: Is the Minister for Local Government, Lands and Housing aware of the urgent demand of the occupiers of the land? If so, can he give an early date when the titles will be issued?
Inche Abdul Hamid: We will give every consideration to hasten the work in progress now.
