Mr John Ede asked the Minister for Local Government, Lands and Housing the reasons for the delay in utilising the new bridges constructed across the Bukit Timah Canal between the 5th and 7th milestones on Bukit Timah Road.

Inche Abdul Hamid: I am informed by the Rural Board, Sir, that there has been no delay.

Mr John Ede: Sir, will the Minister state whether it is the intention to have one-way traffic along the Bukit Timah/ Dunearn Road area when the bridges are completed?

Inche Abdul Hamid: The answer is yes.
