Mr Lim Choon Mong asked the Minister for Communications and Works whether Government has taken or will take steps to assist those at present referred to as pirate-taxi drivers to obtain proper licences.

Mr Francis Thomas: No, Sir. This is wholly a matter for the City Council. I do not propose to infringe on their autonomy.
