Mr Lee Choon Eng asked the Financial Secretary if the Government will consider making a grant of $10,000 to the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals towards the capital expenditure required to establish the Society's proposed premises at Pasir Panjang.

Mr T. M. Hart: Sir, the Government already makes an annual grant of $5,000 towards the recurrent expenditure of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and it is regretted that it is not possible at this time either to increase this grant or to make a contribution towards the capital cost of the Society's proposed premises at Pasir Panjang.
