Mr Lee Choon Eng asked the Minister for Local Government, Lands and Housing if he will make a statement on the progress in the establishment of a Housing Authority.
Inche Abdul Hamid Bin Haji Jumat: Mr Speaker, Sir, the draft legislation is still under preparation.
Mr Lee Choon Eng: Can the Hon. Minister tell us how long will it take to complete this report?
Inche Abdul Hamid: I am not quite sure whether the hon. Member wants a report or a statement on the question of the progress of the establishment of a Housing Authority. He has asked me to make a statement. A statement can be in one sentence or in twenty sentences; I have made my statement in one sentence.
Mr Lee Choon Eng: Is the Minister aware of the concern of the public in the long delay in setting up this Housing Authority?
Inche Abdul Hamid: There is no delay, Sir.
