Official Report, 11 June 1958, Vol 6, Issue 5 Β· Open in the reader (summaries, search, filters)

Order for Second Reading read.

2.47 p.m.

The Minister for Health (Mr A. J. Braga): Mr Speaker, Sir, I beg to move, "That the Bill be now read a Second time."

It is not necessary for me, Sir, in moving the Second Reading of the Bill to expand on the explanatory statement. The amendments proposed by clause 2 are merely a consequence of the re-designation of posts arising out of administrative reorganisation. The amendment to section 7 removes the necessity for the Minister to make rules for election procedures and in consequence the proposal is that paragraph (a) be deleted. The rest are consequential amendments.

Sir, I beg to move.

Question put, and agreed to.

Bill accordingly read a Second time and committed to a Committee of the whole Assembly.

Assembly immediately resolved itself into a Committee on the Bill. [Mr Braga].

Bill considered in Committee; reported.without amendment; read the Third time and passed.
