Mr Lee Choon Eng asked the Minister for Communications and Works if he will consider accepting Tamil for driving tests.
Mr Francis Thomas: There is no necessity to introduce Tamil at this stage since all Tamil-speaking candidates who have been tested speak sufficient Malay for the purposes of a driving licence.
Mr Lee Choon Eng: Is it the opinion of the Minister that every Tamil does speak Malay, and is it his contention and belief that every Tamil should speak Malay?
Mr Speaker: We cannot have a matter of opinion.
