Mr Lee Choon Eng asked the Minister for Commerce and Industry what steps have been taken to check the increase in the prices of essential foodstuffs and other commodities, apart from warnings in the Press.

Mr J. M. Jumabhoy: Mr Speaker, Sir, I take it that the hon. Member means what steps have been taken to check profiteering. If that is so, I am sure he must have seen in this morning's papers a list of current retail prices issued by my Ministry for the guidance of housewives.
