HOUSING AND DEVELOPMENT BOARD (Employment of part-time petition writers)

Mr Cheong Yuen Chee asked the Minister for National Development and Communications whether he will ask the Housing and Development Board to consider employing part-time petition writers to assist applicants of HDB flats to fill in their application forms.

Mr Lim Kim San: Mr Speaker, Sir, it is not practical to have petition writers in the Sales and Lettings Sections because applicants usually need the help of members of their families to provide accurate personal particulars of themselves. Applicants who find difficulty in completing the forms can seek clarification or assistance from officers of the Sales and Lettings Sections.
