Haji Sha'ari bin Tadin asked the Minister for Finance whether the Post Office Savings Bank will set up a branch in Bedok New Town, and, if so, when it is expected to be ready.

Mr Hon Sui Sen: The HDB will allocate 3 contiguous shop units at the Bedok New Town to the POSB for the establishment of a Branch. The shop units are expected to be handed over to the Bank around April next year. Renovation of the premises would take approximately 2 to 3 months, and the Branch is expected to be opened around July 1979.
