Mr Lee Choon Eng asked the Minister for Labour and Welfare whether and when the Government of the Federation of Malaya will require travel passes in respect of persons travelling from Singapore to the Federation of Malaya; and if the Government will consider requiring similar passes for persons entering Singapore from the Federation of Malaya.

Dr Lim Yew Hock: Mr Speaker, Sir, I have not been officially advised by the Government of the Federation of Malaya that they have decided to institute a system of travel passes for persons travelling from Singapore to the Federation. In the circumstances, the second part of the question, being hypothetical, does not arise.
