Mr Lim Cher Kheng asked the Minister for Local Government, Lands and Housing-
(a) if he will give details of the expenditure of approximately $54,000 on repairs to Koh Sek Lim Road; and
(b) whether he has received any complaints that heavy dust rising from this repaired road is endangering the health of the residents; and what steps he has taken or intends to take in the matter.
Inche Abdul Hamid Bin Haji Jumat: I would suggest to the Member for Changi that questions of this nature should more appropriately be directed to the Rural Board. The Rural Board is the road-making authority as well as the Highways authority for the rural areas, and matters not involving policy such as details of expenditure on road repairs and conditions arising from the state of roads clearly concern the Rural Board primarily.
