RECOGNITION OF AMERICAN UNIVERSITY DEGREES

Mr Lim Cher Kheng asked the Minister for Education whether a memorandum has been submitted to the Government of Singapore by the Malayan Students' Association in the United States of America, on the question of recognition of American degrees of Malayans, and whether he will make a statement on the matter.

Mr Chew Swee Kee: A Memorandum on American degrees has been received from the Malayan Students' Association in the United States of America. I have no statement to make except that the Public Service Commission has a standing committee which is considering the matter.
